STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

How are percentiles calculated?

Our analysis is based on an aggregated dataset of over 1 million official race results (5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon) from the last 5 years.

Source: Public athletic federation databases (2020-2025).

We use a logistic distribution function to map your average pace against the global runner population curve. This gives you a realistic estimate of your position compared to the rest of the world.

TREND 2026

Global pace is evolving

Recent data show that marathon participation grew by 15% last year. At the same time average pace slowed slightly, indicating that more runners are joining the sport for health and longevity rather than pure speed.

Elite runners continue to break records thanks to better training and gear, while the wider running community focuses more on consistency and injury prevention.
